Celebrate a summer of color, creativity, and reading at the Brumback Library!
This year’s Summer Reading Program, Color Our World, is open to all ages. Join us from May 31 through July 31 for a season full of colorful adventures in reading, art, and imagination. As always, participation is free—and we can’t wait to help you meet your reading goals this summer!
Kickoff Party – Saturday, May 31
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Brumback Library Main Lawn
Start your summer with a splash! Join us in person for our Summer Reading Kickoff Party, featuring:
- A foam bubble truck from Bubble Buddies Foam Party of Fort Wayne
- Balloon artist
- Sidewalk chalk and bubbles
- Kona Ice for a cool treat
Don’t forget to BYOCC: Bring Your Own Chalk and Chair!
While you’re there, register for the Summer Reading Program and pick up a special registration bag to launch your reading adventure.
How It Works
Registration is open to all ages, with four reading categories:
- Listeners (ages 0–5)
- Young Readers (ages 6–12)
- Teens (ages 13–18)
- Adults (ages 19+)
Each group has unique reading trackers, challenges, events, and prize opportunities.
Listeners & Young Readers (Ages 0–12)
Children can track their progress in two fun ways:
Read & Color:
- Ages 0–5: Color one dot for every 10 minutes read.
- Ages 6–12: Color one dot for every 20 minutes read.
- Reach a gold circle and stop by the library for a sticker to decorate your water bottle!
Bingo Cards:
- Complete fun activities to mark off squares.
- Each Bingo (five in a row) earns a raffle tickets
- Multiple Bingos = more chances to win!
- All branches offer the same great prize options.
Teens (Ages 13–18)
Reading Tracker:
- Pick up a bookmark tracker at the library.
- Every 3 hours read = 1 vinyl sticker
- Every 5 hours read = 1 raffle ticket
- Complete a full bookmark to earn:
- A Brumback Library yard sign
- A special Brumback Library sticker
Crafts & Events
- Drop by the Main Library for summer craft activities—some are on-site, others are take-home kits.

- Teen Color War – July 12
- Teen Cosplay & Costume Contest – July 30
TikTok Challenge:
- Show off your reading spirit in our TikTok Challenge for a chance to earn extra raffle tickets!
Adults (Ages 19+)
Make reading even more rewarding this summer!
How to Participate:
- Register at any Brumback Library location.
- Receive a Reading Tracker to log your finished books.
- Each completed book = 1 raffle ticket
- Turn in your tracker at the end of summer to claim your raffle entries and be entered to win a grand prize.
Bonus Tickets:
Attend adult programs throughout the summer for more chances to win and enjoy time with your community!
